Facade inspections in Bronx: where things stand
The Bronx has one of the highest shares of Cycle 9 records marked "No Report Filed" of any borough, and the Grand Concourse alone accounts for dozens of FISP buildings. For owners here, the most common risk isn't a bad inspection result; it's missing the filing entirely.
Cycle 10 so far
As of October 7, 2026, 407 Bronx buildings have a Cycle 10 facade report on file with DOB, out of roughly 2,462 that filed in Cycle 9. Of the 463 Cycle 10 filings so far, 136 (29%) report Unsafe conditions, 83 (18%) were filed as SWARMP, and 211 (46%) as Safe.
Cycle 10 is still early. The 10A and 10B filing windows are open and 10C hasn't started, and buildings that file first aren't a random sample, so these percentages will move. The live line above updates every time the page loads.
How Bronx did in Cycle 9
| Cycle 9 result | Filings | Share |
|---|---|---|
| Unsafe | 530 | 13% |
| SWARMP (safe with repair program) | 1,234 | 30% |
| No report filed | 646 | 16% |
| All Cycle 9 filings | 4,142 | 100% |
The SWARMP number matters most for Cycle 10. A condition reported as SWARMP in Cycle 9 can't be reported as SWARMP again. If it wasn't repaired and turns up as Unsafe this cycle, the owner faces a $2,000 penalty on top of the usual Unsafe penalties. See the full penalty schedule.
Streets with the most FISP buildings
By number of buildings that filed in Cycle 9: Grand Concourse (78), Metropolitan Avenue (44), Walton Avenue (36), Morris Avenue (34), Washington Avenue (30), Webster Avenue (28). Two buildings on the same block can still fall in different sub-cycles, because the deadline depends on each building's tax block number, not its street.
Which deadline applies to your Bronx building
- Tax block ending in 4, 5, 6 or 9: sub-cycle 10A, window closes February 21, 2027. 10A details
- Ending in 0, 7 or 8: sub-cycle 10B, closes February 21, 2028. 10B details
- Ending in 1, 2 or 3: sub-cycle 10C, opens February 21, 2027. 10C details

How the deadlines work
Cycle 10 runs 2025–2029, in three staggered waves
Every building's filing window is fixed by the last digit of its tax block number — not by borough, not by owner, not by building size. Two buildings across the street from each other can be in different sub-cycles.

What the four filing statuses actually mean
The facade has a condition that could pose a risk to public safety — a protective sidewalk shed is usually required. Repairs and a corrective filing must follow, and penalties accrue monthly until DOB accepts an amended report closing it out.
Safe With A Repair and Maintenance Program. The facade passed with conditions — the QEWI identified items that need ongoing monitoring or scheduled repair. Compliant for now, but the maintenance plan has to actually be followed and eventually closed out.
Filed, inspected, and accepted with no outstanding conditions. Nothing further required until the next cycle.
A report has been submitted for this cycle but DOB hasn't finished processing it. Not the same as no filing at all — check back, or ask your QEWI of record for the status.
What it costs to wait
The fines outlast the inspection
DOB penalties for FISP don't stop on their own — they keep accruing every month until the correct report is filed or the condition is fixed.
Late or missing filing
For every month a report is filed after the deadline. If no report is filed at all, add $5,000 per year after the filing window closes.
Failure to correct an Unsafe condition
Starting in year two, add $10 per linear foot of sidewalk shed per month, rising to $40 per foot by year five — until the condition is corrected.
